In the spring of 2004, His Holiness the Dalai Lama bestowed the Kalachakra teaching for World Peace in Toronto to over 7,000 pilgrims from all walks of life. It was during this auspicious occasion that His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama gave his blessings to the organization and granted the Tibetan name “Gangjong Choedenling” to the proposed Tibetan Canadian Cultural Centre (TCCC) located at 40 Titan Road, Toronto.
As a community based, not for profit organization, the mission of TCCC is to preserve and foster the growth of Tibetan culture within the Tibetan community in Ontario. We are a multi-faceted organization providing programs, events, services, resources and facilities to promote an understanding and appreciation of Tibet’s rich culture and traditions to Canadians from all heritages.
In today’s increasingly diverse and multicultural Canadian society, the goal of TCCC is to promote cross-cultural understanding and friendship between the Tibetan community and other cultural groups in Canada through education and awareness projects. As a learning centre and a place to share common interests, TCCC will not only help Tibetan immigrants adjust to the culture, heritage, and lifestyle in Canada, but it will also promote and foster Tibetan culture and art within the Tibetan community and with other cultural groups. This inspirational place of learning will provide visitors with on-going opportunities to learn and practice the Tibetan values of altruism, love, compassion and non-violence; thus promoting harmony and friendship in our diverse society.
